Sports broadcaster Greg Gumbel, 78, dies of Cancer

Greg Gumbel, a veteran of CBS Sports who spent more than 50 years in sports broadcasting, has died of cancer at the age of 78, his family said Friday. "He passed away peacefully surrounded by much love after a courageous battle with cancer," his wife, Marcy Gumbel, and daughter, Michelle Gumbel, said in a joint statement released by CBS Sports. "Greg approached his illness like one would expect he would, with stoicism, grace and positivity. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Hospitalized After Injury During Luxembourg Visit

Nancy Pelosi, 84, was injured while visiting Luxembourg for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Fox News confirmed. The California representative was part of a bipartisan Congressional delegation attending events to honor the historic World War II battle.
Details about the extent of Pelosi’s injury are not yet available. According to The Wall Street Journal, Pelosi tripped and fell after participating in a group photo with lawmakers and officials. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Ian Krager, her spokesperson, said in a statement: "While traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation in Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation." Pelosi, a long-serving California representative and former House Speaker, was in Luxembourg to pay tribute to veterans and commemorate this significant event in history.
