Ex-Governor Sees Mystery Drones in Maryland, Criticizes Federal Government for Secrecy

Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan said he saw "dozens of large drones" flying above his home in Davidsonville, Maryland, on Thursday night. He watched and recorded the drones for about 45 minutes and shared his concerns on Friday. Hogan said he doesn't know if the drones pose a threat to public safety or national security, but he criticized the federal government for not being transparent. He stated that officials have the tools to trace the drones' origins but have failed to act. He also claimed that agencies like the White House, military, FBI, and Homeland Security say they don't know what the drones are, where they came from, or who controls them, though they insist the drones aren't a threat. Hogan called this response "unacceptable" and joined other leaders in demanding immediate action and answers for the American people. Unexplained drone sightings have been reported since mid-November near U.S. military bases, residential areas in New Jersey, New York City, and even above three U.S. airbases in the UK, raising concerns. However, White House adviser John Kirby said many of these sightings are actually legal manned aircraft, with no evidence of a threat to national security or safety. Still, frustrated residents, unhappy with the government’s response, have threatened to shoot down the drones. Both political parties have criticized how the situation has been handled.
